Prof (Dr.) Kaustav Chakraborty, an eminent and astute Neuropsychiatrist, Sexologist and Drug-Deaddiction Specialist from Kalyani specializes in the care of individuals afflicted with mental disorders attributable to diseases of the nervous system. He also is the recipient of Dr. Sarada Menon Gold Medal bestowed on him for his outstanding success in DNB examination in Psychiatry in the year 2010.
Dr. Chakraborty enjoys the Fellowship title of Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology conferred on him in 2011 at the 107th Annual Meeting in Tokyo. He was awarded the prestigious Dr. R.B. Davis Oration Award by Indian Psychiatry Society, Eastern Zonal Branch in the year 2022. He holds a strong publication record in national and international journals.
Presently, Dr. Chakraborty serves at College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, Kalyani, Nadia in the capacity of Head and Professor of Department of Psychiatry. He is at the helm of the Drug De-addiction and Treatment Centre Clinic and Memory Clinic at the centre which function every Thursday and Friday respectively. Dr. Chakraborty’s name is synonymous with philanthropic activities. He is attached to various NGOs that extend therapeutic treatment and care to psychiatric and drug dependent patients. He renders invaluable service to an assisted living facility designed for people with Dementia. Dr. Moumita Chatterjee Chakraborty is a well-known general physician in and around Kalyani. She passed her MBBS degree from R.G. Kar Medical and Hospital, Kolkata and thereafter did her post-graduation (MD) from IPGME&R and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata. She also did a diploma in Community Mental Health from NIMHANS, Bangalore. She completed her certificate course in Diabetes by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). She served in various capacities in West Bengal Health Service and took major responsibilities at the workplace. She has experience in working ICU set up while her posting in SSKM hospital. She has been working in College of Medicine and JNM Hospital, WBUHS, Kalyani since 2011. She is empathetic towards her patients, soft spoken, well behaved and possess good clinical acumen. She has multiple publications in national and international journals. She keeps attending various medical conferences and remains updated with current medical practices.
